Hi!

I’m Dara (she/they), I am a settler currently living and working on the beautiful traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən speaking peoples, also known as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations.

I am a life-long visual artist and aspiring art therapist. Over the years, my work has slowly developed into a whimsical, colourful, and surreal world. I am a sucker for absurdity - the weirder and more unhinged something is, the more I love it. My hope is that my art both soothes and confuses my viewers.

I STRONGLY believe that creativity is an innately human characteristic. It is a vital form of self/community care, grounding, and growth. I’ve watched many self-appointed “non-creative” humans attempt creative practices and find themselves surprised and thrilled with the process and outcome. It’s the most beautiful thing in the world to witness, and it’s what I want to spend my life doing.

If you know me (or meet me) it’s inevitable that I will beg you to make “bad” art with me. You’ll love it, I promise. For now, I hope you like looking at mine.

Thanks for being here - below are some pics of me doing my thing :)
